That. Jman, take note. Also, Jman, if you are interested I think you'd be very entertained by watching the music documentary "End of the century". That will I think be very interesting. It's all about the New York scene that the Ramones came out of along with being about the band itself. Really illuminates more what Jason said here. _________________ -Ryan

I recognize that many people take this into account, but I personally feel that music ought to stand on its own outside of context. Enjoy it for what it is, not what it was. That being said, I believe The Ramones is a good album. I attribute this to the high energy of the entire group and especially the forward drive of Tommy Ramone. It might be best to begin with Ramones Mania, which compiles a lot of their best songs.

I want to get more into hardcore punk and metal, but I feel like I'm not an intense enough person. I was checking some Converge earlier and even though it seemed like it would be good for someone into the genre it just doesn't seem like something I could regularly listen to.

Fantastique! I applaude you for listening to Rumours!
As for what Jason said, I guess he's right. Looking back, it's really good for a punk album. So it actually might make it higher on my 70's chart.

I logged in just in time! J. Geils Band, Dead or Alive, and BeeGees are good.
