I love owl city and bruno mars and the like. Very good stuff. Everything all these mainstream artists do is so catchy and fun.
Bruno Mars has some seriously sweet singles, for sure.
Adam Young is also a really talented guy. His lyrics are just about the worst I've heard, and I personally struggle with the way he sings (overly breathy and twee), but he sure knows how to write melodies. He had a project last year where he made a soundtrack each month for a different history events. Boatloads of music, all high quality. Most of it suffers from being a bit on the nose, but makes for good emotive background music.

I see what you'[re saying, haven't really checked out any of the stuff released under the actual name of Adam, but from the stuff you linked, seems pretty good.
Recently I've just been into all the singles and the stuff because of disparate reasons. I've become a huge fan of carly rae jepsen and she did a collab with owl city which was great imo.
Planning out a honeymoon in Greece for May and looking to swing through London to catch Anthony Braxton's three day Cafe Oto residency on the way back to the states. Will have sax, cornet, tuba, accordian, and two harps. Will be contacting certain bea Londoners when everything's set
In what could be charitably described as a "Workman like" performance Run the Jewels graced Festering Hall on Thursday night. For the mainly young punters who forked out close to 100$ barely an hours worth of music interspersed with about 30 mins of these narcissistic nobs talking about themselves and taking selfies. Plenty of by the numbers anti Trump diatribe amongst the asides form the duo who seem to strenuously play to the 18-24 audience. At the end of their weak effort the crowd is cajoled to raise one arm with a clenched fist in the air to show "community" but came across more as a Nuremberg Rally esque embarrassment. The pair of them smugly walked off arm in arm at the end not like a great act that had sweated out a defining performance but a couple of errant school boys who had cheated on an exam and to their surprise had gotten away with it.
