Anytime I'm worried that maybe I spent too much time with literature/philosophy, playing an instrument, listening to music, rating music, or video games, I always remind myself I could have been wasting my time with watching football. I always feel much better.
football has no less intrinsic value than any of those things u elitist dork
While that's true - human experience is all made up anyway - I still want to kill myself anytime I hear a sports announcer.
Also having said that, intrinsic value can be ascertained by the observer. We assign value to things. Things in of themselves have no value. From Wiki: "Instrumental and intrinsic value are technical labels for the two poles of an ancient dichotomy. People seem to reason differently about what they ought to do (good ends) and what they are able to do (good means). When people reason about ends, they apply the criterion intrinsic value."
I also do struggle at times what good use of time there is. So thanks for caring about that.
I remembered him from his hilarious appearances on the Howard Stern show way back in the day. But I never thought to listen to him until I came across him in a video on Facebook singing "Tiptoe Through the Tulips." The video referenced the film Insidious and the creepiest scene in that movie to me has always been the part where that song happened to be playing on a record player. I assumed it was a female singer of the 1930s or older so when I discovered it was Tiny Tim I became mildly obsessed and watched every interview, performance and album I could find on YouTube.
So a coworker and I swapped playlists of what music we listened to as teenagers. It was fun - we both had stereotypes against each others music tastes, yet now appreciate the taste way more.
Top 10 bands as a teenager and a good, but less known song from each album.
