So this past year I just discovered Bank's "212" and blasted it pretty much every day on repeat. My new jam is this, which my wife introduced to me. Sounds like Pretty Hate Machine meets "Goodbye Horses."
I've had an enthusiasm for death metal lately and realizing that Death's first album has extremely misogynistic homophobic lyrics is making me come back to earth a little...There is truth to the idea of metal being a particularly masculine & misogynist genre. Still...my favorite death metal album so far is None So Vile by Cryptopsy...the lyrics are fucked up but in a more constructed kind of way not the ugly boastful shit on Scream Bloody Gore. I like the drums a lot.
