Great album. Not a single weak track on it which is surprising seeing as it's a double album. This was The Rolling Stones at their greatest.

That opening riff. The Stones' best IMO. Every track is either a masterpiece or works brilliantly in the context of the album. The flow is just incredible.

Personally, my favorite track is "Sweet Virginia".

I must admit, however, that I don't love this quite as much as I used to, only because one of the frats at my college (well, they aren't technically a frat anymore, as their charter was removed when they ran a bulldozer into another frat house, but that's another story...) plays this album excessively at all of their parties. Unfortunately, it's almost never done in order, so it's just a shuffle of Exile songs for ages. Really odd.

A wonderful collection of songs. That said, for some reason this never feels like an album to me. What I mean is that whenever I've listened to an album several times I begin to understand or at least become familiar with the album. That just doesn't happen for me and this album. I'm still not sure if I'm making myself clear. You know when you listen to an album several times, you are able to know the order of the songs and if the order is rearranged something feels off? Well that doesn't happen for me here. It just feels like a greatest hits album.

Haha, actually this! I'm sure that I've listened to this album more than twenty times entirely but now I look at the tracklisting and don't have a clue what about half of these songs sound like. I know that if I played them I'd remember but their names don't help me remember. Maybe I don't pay that much attention to titles!

Meh. I don't like The Rolling Stones at all, and probably never will, but I will say that this and Sticky Fingers are alright, even if I'm not crazy about them. However, this album is just more evidence of my claim that The Rolling Stones deserve to be recognized as one of the greatest bands of all time when it comes to making a damn good opening track.

I think it's just that there's so many damn songs and they all generally sound alike. Exile's my favorite Stones album next to Aftermath but also can't remember the tracklisting at all.

I like it, though not quite as much as the other Stones albums I've heard. I only listen to it occasionally.

I grabbed this lately after seeing its insistence as a "best ever album" so many years later. Every time I listen to this, I can't believe how long the great music goes on. Easily one of the five best double albums of all time.
