This is the musical equivalent of the license plates. You try to think of songs with names of U.S. States in the Title. If you think yours is better than the one listed, replace it.

Alabama - Lynyrd Skynnyrd: Sweet Home Alabama
Alaska
Arizona - Mark Lindsay: Arizona
Arkansas
California - Albert Hammond: It Never Rains in Southern California
Colorado
Connecticut
Delaware - Perry Como: Delaware
Florida
Georgia - Ray Charles: Georgia On My Mind
Hawaii - The Ventures: Hawaii 5-0
Idaho
Illinois
Indiana - R. Dean Taylor: Indiana Wants Me
Iowa
Kansas
Kentucky - Elvis Presley: Blue Moon on Kentucky
Louisiana
Maine
Maryland
Massachusetts - Bee Gees: (The Lights All Went Out) Massachusetts
Michigan - Lefty Frizzell: Saginaw, Michigan
Minnesota
Mississippi
Missouri
Montana
Nebraska
Nevada
New Hampshire
New Jersey
New Mexico
New York - Sting: Englishman in New York
North Carolina
North Dakota
Ohio
Oklahoma - Rogers & Hammerstein: Oklahoma!
Oregon
Pennsylvania
Rhode Island
South Carolina
South Dakota
Tennessee
Texas
Utah
Virginia
Vermont
Washington
West Virginia
Wisconsin
Wyoming

I think that's all of them. If this proves popular, there are other lists (countries, chemical elements, colors) that would be fun to do.

Stevie Ray Vaughn's Texas Flood for Texas. Couldn't be a more fitting song than that.

Virginia: Tom Waits - Virginia Avenue

The Virginia Avenue referred to in the song is in D.C.

"Sweet Virginia" would work better, for sure.

OK I don't think that one's actually possible but I'd love to see artists with those initials of chemical elements to make the whole chart. i.e. H - Hanson, He - Harry Edison, etc. If you don't do that I might have to steal that idea

Forgot one.

Maine - The Stein Song (University of Maine), by Rudy Vallee, 1930.
The only school song to be a number one single.
