Many people claim that the birth of punk was with that album, almost in the same way people say that grunge was born with Nirvana's Nevermind, that may be the reason you weren't as pleased with it.
Overrated and overhyped and lacking in greatness. _________________ This ain't no holiday, but it always turns out this way.

I agree, I bought Nevermind and Nevermind the Bollocks. They're both wildly overated. Better off with The Stranglers (punk) and Pearl Jam & In Utero (Nirvana's 3rd album) (grunge)

I love them both, and in fact i think you can´t find in the entire history of music an album that has had the impact on music as Nevermind the bollocks did. As you can read on wikipedia, "it created the first generation gap within rock n roll".
And it is not only the fans, but the critics who agree. In 1987 Rolling Stone magazine voted it as the 2nd most influential album of past 20 years, only behind sgt peppers. And you can find many more examples.
Anyway, i understand you don´t like it, since punk music doesn´t please to many people, but its influence over music has been amazing.
Regards.

I shall be frank. I think the Sex Pistols are absolutely terrible. I think their songs are shit, the lead singer sounds like nails on a blackboard whilst the owner of the nails screams because someone is kicking him.
They're just bloody terrible. Anarchy in the UK is supposedly one of the greatest songs of the 70s, I'd rather listen to bloody Mariah Carey, at least she can sing for christ's sake X_X

Even if you don't like it, the influence of Never Mind the Bollocks cannot be ignored. It redefined what rock could be, and countless bands copied their independent, raw style. Arguably more influential than london calling or a lot of the beatles' stuff.
