Yes, he may want that good music but he may unknowingly dismantle the tap it's coming from. That said who knows what will happen if we carry on either way? We'll know by 2020. In the mean time, all I want to do is make this decade the greatest decade for music in every way I can and being the best artist possible.
Plus, I'll be wary of apple. A company which has written plans to send adverts into their music players, ones which you can not ignore, sound like they more interested in the way they want things to go.
Perhaps I'm getting over sentimental. Something doesn't feel right when a society expects music for free but are willing to pay absurd prices on absurd fashions Don't you think so?

Obviously, you don't read Bob Lefsetz |
Is he the moron bitch boy? | You can feed yourself. Google Lefsetz. |
Yeah moron bitch boy is what Gene Simmons (moron) and Kid Rock (bitch boy) called Lefsetz. |
You're entitled to your opinion. Do you really respect what Gene Simmons has to say? Frankly, I don't put any creed in what he has to say about anything because he is a carny who provokes everyone and everything to sell his product. Kid Rock is a contributor on Lefsetz' blog. He might call him a bitch boy but he still reads the Lefsetz Letter. |
Kid Rock threatened the industry gadfly with bodily harm too, even if he reads Lefsetz' drivel. _________________ Top 100 Greatest Music Albums by RFNAPLES

I'll gladly pay a flat monthly fee for access to an online music library as long as the artists get royalties.

I think that after paying contractual label expenses an artist today typically ends up with about 6% of sales. And they have their own expenses to pay from this. Maybe someone who actually knows can verify or correct my thinking. But unit sales today are minute compared to stolen units so most artists are making diddly squat.
The premise behind the 10 cent track is that at that price 100 or a 1000 times the current units will sell because who the hell is going to steal a 10 cent track. Thus, artists will make a lot more money. That's the economics of it. Maybe 10 cents is just an attention grabber and the price will slide to 20 or 25 cents meaning even more for the artist. I see the fly in the ointment today and tomorrow to music sales being the need for a credit card to make an online purchase. Most kids don't have one.

Gene Simmons was partly responsible for Animalize!. Probably the greatest guitar album that has graced this universe...

Gene Simmons can be a great artist. He is also one of the biggest hucksters in music. He tells everybody that he @#^&^*& their mother! I think it's a put on persona but it's him spewing verbal garbage nonetheless. Donald Trump and "Sham Wow" Vince have more verbal integrity.

I fully believe I was fathered by Gene Simmons; I also believe that the slap chop remix, another great work by "Sham Wow" Vince, is perhaps the greatest audio recording EVER.
