It's very solid. My third favorite by them (fourth if we count Louder Than Bombs), after The Queen and Strangeways. Barbarism begins at home is great.

Wasn't impressed. I own it. I have been meaning to revisit this and every other smiths album. Bit yeah, as of now I just recall not being impressed. I have never really understood what is so great about the smiths. They've just never done anything for me.

I've only listened to this and The Queen is Dead and I've got to say that I prefer this. I haven't listened to both of them in a while though. The Headmaster Ritual is currently my favourite song from them. That Joke Isn't Funny Anymore is also staggering.

It's lame anthemic nature which ends the album has always put me off listening to it regularly and in its entirety but as always they have quite a handful of great songs (I Want the One I Can't Have, Nowhere Fast, . . .)

My favorite album by The Smiths. Really. That being said, I also have the version with "How Soon Is Now." Without that, it's still quite solid.

Track picks
1. The Headmaster Ritual
3. I Want The One I Can't Have
6. Nowhere Fast
7. Well I Wonder
9. Meat Is Murder

Never actually checked your chart but based off your forum contributions I had you down as a Smiths fanboy, listen to s/t or Hatful of Hollow now please Very Happy

Quality of Smiths albums goes in chronological order so we're second best to the s/t here, it's still pretty much perfect though.

First Smiths album that I've heard back in the 80's and my favorite Smiths album for years. It is my 2nd favorite now when I recently heard it back to back with "The Queen is Dead". "Well I Wonder" just melts you.
