|
OK, I saw this on another site, and I found it quite intriguing.
http://www.spin.com/spin25/125-best-alb...rs#page=14
Here's the top 10:
1. U2-Achtung Baby
2. Prince-Sign O The Times
3. The Smiths-The Queen is Dead
4. Nirvana-Nevermind
5. Radiohead-OK Computer
6. Public Enemy-It Takes a Nation of Millions...
7. Guns N Roses-Appettite For Destruction
8. PJ Harvey-Rid of Me (not even on the top 500 )
9. Pavement-Slanted and Enchanted
10. NIN-The Downward Spiral
Yes, I know. The list is quite, erm, "eccentric", but it certainly is an interesting proposition. What do you guys think of it? Should we add it to our own supply of charts?

Crazy list.
I am hugely disappointed that Disintegration is not in this list. Out of 125 albums, they could have slipped it in. Instead they put Head On The Door in there.
Ho-hum.

A few good choices, a whole lot of bad choices, and almost no surprises.
Pretty par for the course in terms of magazine lists. _________________ I love all music. It makes you feel like living. Silence is death.

Where was Neutral Milk Hotel on the list? Surely it warrants a top 5 place? EPIC FAIL!!!

That's a legitimate criticism, but overall, it's not a bad list. What's the rationale for the last 25 years? Is it like, now that the gen-xer's have been in the critical sphere for a while and are moving toward middle age, it's their turn to make a list? It's kind of like the gen-X answer to the Baby Boomer dominated Rolling Stone list a few years back.
