Many of my favourite 21st century bands are coming to Vancouver this summer and I haven't seen any of them live yet. So, I've been going to Youtube to catch a snippet of their live shows. The results have been extremely disappointing. I won't mention which bands I've seen on Youtube because I don't want to dis anybody on flimsy evidence. The bottom line is that I don't want to (and can't afford to) pay a lot of money to go to a show just to watch stiffs standing at microphones or even worse sitting on stools, no matter how good the music is.

So, I am asking your opinion. Which 21st century bands/groups/artists are the most entertaining live? Thanks.

I have seen Muse several times and each time they have been amazing! I am a huge fan so that helps but the stage presence of Matt Bellamy and the Queen-esque theatrics of their music makes them a standout.

Stereophonics I saw a few weeks back and they were highly entertaining.

Jason Mraz played an intimate gig in my home town to a small crowd and he played for about three hours non-stop and got the whole crowd involved. This was in about 2007 I think. A charismatic performer.

Other notables
- Kasabian
- The Mars Volta
- Doves
- Peaches

I've seen Muse and Coldplay during the past year or so and both put on great shows. I also, saw good and super expensive shows from Roger Waters and U2.
