- Post subject: Best Songs of the past decade?
|
I have not yet seen a thread like this one.
Maybe an year ago I was completely sure that the 00s sucked musically speaking. But now my opinion changed, and I think that , actually, it was a pretty good decade.
There is already a list about the best albums... what about everyone choosing their best songs?
I will do a top 10 list, but the number of songs is at everyones will.
1. Sex on Fire - Kings of Leon
2. Is This It - The Strokes
3. Seven Nation Army - The White Stripes
4. Leif Erikson - Interpol
5. Knights of Cydonia - Muse
6. Spaghetti del Rock - Divididos (Argentina)
7. Reptilia - The Strokes
8. When You Were Young - The Killers
9. Miracle Drug - U2
10. Feel Good Inc. - Gorillaz
surely I left some songs out. I just did the list with the first songs that came into my mind, so I may have accidentally skipped some other great ones.
Also, my list may be different to a list made by someone living in another country by the fact that many songs I've listed -as I have read- have been overplayed over and over again, and that, I'm sure, makes one tired of it and consequently, "it sucks". Many of the songs and bands in my list are almost unknown in Argentina. By saying that, I really mean it. I have never heard Sex on Fire on the radio, as well as Leif Erikson and Reptilia. A new genre from the Caribbean has gained prominence and now the radio stations play only that, plus some Killers and Black Eyed Peas. So I now that my list may be "too pop" depending on the country were you live. _________________ And If a Double Decker Bus, Crashes into us...
