It was briefly featured on my top 100 way back, now I feel like it's kinda overrated. I still like it, but people saying that this is the best hip-hop album need to listen to Illmatic.

It's marvelous, really great. I haven't listened to it in quite some time though, I need to go back to it, although I'm not sure it deserves to be the only hip hop album in the top 100, yadda yadda.

The greatest Hip-Hop album by a country mile.

This album has done quite a bit for me. I'm not sure if any album has helped me as much as this has. When I'm low, I connect to the more emotional pieces, when I'm in my "regular" mindset, songs like "POWER" and "All Of The Lights" click more.


Jackwc summed it up well, it's a tragedy, a moving one.

"Never was much of a romantic

Haters gonna hate; Kanye's gonna dominate. Seriously. Whether or not this is the best hip-hop album, I don't care. It's not only good enough, but it's about as perfect as an album can be. My #10 right now, and will probably always be ranked high. This was my very first hip-hop album, so there's quite a bit of sentiment here for me. Not a bad track: Just pure perfection.

Juuuuust beats out The College Dropout for my fav Kanye album. Also one of my all time favs. Everything about this album just works - even the 3 minute skits about "circus d'soleil pussy"!

Pretty much like others said, like, one of the best albums I've ever heard. Really blew my mind and got me into much more hip hop and rap. A gateway album of sorts. And production wise it's untouchable.
