Some might find the free form freak-outs off-putting, but personally I love how they sit between the proto-punk ballads that are at least a decade ahead of their time. I love how well suited the cover art is to the music; listening to this album is like wondering through a carnival, overwhelmed by the flood of sound and colour, and every so often finding yourself at the same stage with the mysterious band that you were sure you were just walking away from ...

Most of this is copied from the description of the album in my overall chart, do check it out if you have the time!!

I'm sorry, I usually dig psychedelia but for me this was just dross.

Creo que, junto con "The Velvet Underground & Nico", "Trout Mask Replica" y "Kind of Blue" (entre otros), este es el álbum más importante e influyente de todos los tiempos.

I liked this album. Very psychedelic/avant-garde, without being too pompous or overbearing.

The songs here are actually quite good. On the other hand, the freepart stuff makes my ears bleed.

Alex Lindhardt said it best: "It's a band that has no idea how to play its instruments. In fact, they don't even know what instruments are, or if the guitarist has the ability to remain conscious long enough to play whatever it is a 'note' might be."

The Red Crayola are probably THE most single influential and pioneering pyschedelic bands of the 1960's and probably of all-time. Theinfluence of the band's deconstructed sound and industrial dissonance stretches all the way to the expressionistic rock of 'Faust' through to the post-punk of 'Pop Group' and 'Pere Ubu' and beyond. The British band 'Spacemen 3' even named one of their albums after one of the band's songs in recognition of their influence.

This is definitely a noisy album.
If you love free form psychedelic freak out music then you'll love this, otherwise, your opinions might be a little mixed.
For me, this is a good enough album, but at times too annoying to be great.
