A lot more ambitious and interesting sampling work than most artists with the same method of composing, but at least when you put up Fatboy Slim or Daft Punk on the dancefloor, people will dig it.

It definitely takes a little to get used to, but the sound is pretty enjoyable once you do. However I find this album has too few tracks that really standout to me to warrant the praise it gets. I actually like Wildflower more

It's one of the most creative, unique and unconventional albums that you'll ever listen to. After 'Wildflower', I appreciate what The Avalanches did here even more -- after 10 years they couldn't even come close to the level of this masterpiece. It's hard to rate this album though, because it's so different to anything else that came out before or after. I think that a 10/10 is deserved, although usually I would reserve that to an album on which every song is good.

Really fun at times. Probably a bit longer than I need it to be.

This is my favorite album of all time. Brilliant use of over 3,000 different samples. Live at Dominoes and Close to You are my definitely my favorites.

An album that functions best when played in order, and is a great dancing album at that. It's hard not to respect these guys for making a fantastic album out of over 3500 samples.

Mesmerizing sample driven dance music. More like a rainforest cacophony than an album.

Albums like this and Donuts by J Dilla and Endtroducing by DJ Shadow are weird for me. I love them all because they're so incredibly impressive and they make me want to sit down for 48 hours straight and just look for different samples that I could use to make just one song that's anywhere near as good as their stuff, but at the same time it's not something I would buy and listen to on repeat. It's super impressive, but not something to listen to for fun, if you know what I mean. But that's just my opinion.
