Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)

This artist is rated in the top 1% of artists on BestEverAlbums.com. This artist has a mean average rating of 92.0/100. The trimmed mean (excluding outliers) is 93.7/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 12.9.

It is obvious to anyone who is intellectually honest that The Dark Side of The Moon is the best album ever ... !!!! ok ...in art there cannot be a clash of generations...

One of the three greatest bands, (along with Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath). No other gets close. Alright The Beatles and Queen get close.

I love how Pink Floyd is such easy-listening but still sounds very profound and relaxing. It's like the one band you can play that most people should like (along with the Beatles). I like Meddle, Dark Side of the Moon, and Wish You Were Here the best. Before that they were a little unfocused and after that they were a bit contrived.

Good space rock with some classic albums. A solid entry-level band. I respect them for their immense influence on my favorite artists.

Not everything Pink Floyd has done is perfect. However, when they were on point, they made sheer masterpieces of music. The Dark Side of the Moon, The Wall, Animals and Wish You Were Here are classics in general music. No matter if you like rock, hip hop, R&B or pop, they are must listens.
