Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)

This artist is rated in the top 1% of artists on BestEverAlbums.com. This artist has a mean average rating of 90.0/100. The trimmed mean (excluding outliers) is 90.6/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 12.0.

Consistently my favorite band since the 70's. It really doesn't get any better than this.

They're in my top 10, somewhere after Queen and The Beatles.

I gave Led Zeppelin not all 5 stars bur 4,5. Because they are my favorite band. And the first time i heard of them my world was completely destroyed but now i love them and my respect for so many greatful songs. Especially the epic Stairway to Heaven

One of the greatest rock albums of all time, this was essentially a demo tape of a new band produced by Jimmy Page and completed after less than 40 hours in recording studios. Amazing!

No. 3 favourite band of all time. Their music was so dynamic - they could do folk-influenced acoustic numbers just as well as they did heavy-rock. They dabbled in psychedelia, heavy metal, folk rock, blues rock, reggae, funk, progressive rock and even a little proto-punk on their earlier stuff. A string of six classic albums, and their final two albums are still good in their own right. Fantastic musicians - each represented some of the best in their respective field. Even though they are plagiarists, it still for me anyway does not diminish their reputation as the greatest rock n' roll band in the world.

Plagiarists who developed their own sound that took rock and roll by storm, and then they forged their own songwriting path as well. Titans of hard rock and justifiably so. Plant and Page get all the press, but Zep is Zep largely because of the stunningly powerful, original, and tight rhythm section of John Bonham on drums and the criminally underrated John Paul Jones on bass.

If someone has never heard music before, I would recommend that they listen to Led Zeppelin.
