Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)
This artist is rated in the top 1% of all artists on BestEverAlbums.com. This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 92.1/100, a mean average of 90.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 92.3/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 15.8.

One of the greatest bands of all time!
Radiohead is the best band in 21st century. No one of.
Probably the best band since Pink Floyd were in their prime I reckon, the triology of albums consisting of the Bends, OK Computer and Kid A is up there with the best three album runs in history and the group have also maintained a level of consistency in the quality of their work which is quite phenominal considering how long they have been around for now
Radiohead is the best band ever. It changed my life. All my friends bully me but they listen to shit like 100 gecs. Thom yorke I love you
Best band of all time in my opinion. Even their weakest albums are better than 99% of the material other artists put out. So much variety in their music. Can't wait for their next album which I'm sure will be another excellent piece of work.
One of the most important connections I've ever made in my life.
his music, lyrics and everything that surrounds this great band really made be considered as one of the greatest bands of the end of the 20th century to date.
I will forever be found of Radiohead. This band have introduced me to a new kind of music, refined my taste and I still very much adore their albums to this day.
However, after maturing for a couple of years, I cannot consider them one the greatest bands of all time.
A critics favorite? Sure. But in my view, that's not enough to earn that place.
To really be considered of the greatest artists of all time, in my opinion, you need two things: quality and cultural presence; in another words, you need to have hits. You need music that will outlive generations.
Beatles obviously are the best example at this, but many others have done similarly: The Rolling Stones, U2, Michael Jackson, R.E.M., Bruce Springteen, Nirvana, etc.
The thing is, Radiohead... did not. Despite all of their influence among other bands in the late 90s and early 2000s, they really are not even known by most people. And you cannot be one of the greatests artists in the human race if that race doesn't even know who you are.
I'm only saying this because those are the words this website uses: "greatest artists". I cannot agree with their position in such a rank, althought It's understandable given the score system utilized.

Yes, their fans can go a bit overboard and be a bit pretentious; for that matter, so can the band themselves. Doesn't change the fact that they are my favourite band, and have been since I was about 16. Like The Beatles before them, they perfectly straddle the line between accessibility and experimentation (although they are less accessible than the Beatles - then again, the Beatles are the most popular band ever and for good reason). Several of their albums are flawless or near-flawless masterpieces and the majority of their albums are at least solid, with a bunch of great tracks. They just take me to a place no other band does, and as an introverted and socially anxious person, they make me feel understood like no other band does. I may not listen to them as much as I used to, but every time I do, it's an absolute pleasure. No-one has been able to top them for me. Sorry not sorry!
The best band of the last 30 years.
