Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)
This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 72.7/100, a mean average of 71.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 72.4/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 22.5.

With 4 classics: Reasonable Doubt, The Blueprint 1 & 2, American Gangster, he's def underrated here.
Greatest rapper of all time. Only haters still deny this.
Hov is easily top 5 rappers of all time.
The Blueprint

He is a very talented rapper, but his best work was bringing Kanye into light.
Doesn't have the individual standout album to rival Ready to Die, Illmatic, 36 Chambers, or Things Fall Apart. Jay-Z is at the top of the hip-hop heap because of his vast quantity of work. He has three standout albums (Black, Reasonable Doubt and Blueprint) and has shown better than any other the ability to remain cutting edge and relevant. His flow is smooth, but his delivery can be lazy. His lyrics are biting, and his production strong. Jay-Z can be bested on an individual album, but his total body of work is phenomenal.
hard to find fault with this man.

Surprised The Black Album is so far down. I thought that was regarded as his best work along with The Blueprint
