Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)

This artist is rated in the top 12% of all artists on BestEverAlbums.com. This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 77.3/100, a mean average of 76.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 77.4/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 18.0.

One of the greatest band that I have seen live. Saw them once, when bon was still with us, and it was incredible. So charismatic. What a night which I still remember vividly 45 year ps later

The simplicity, the riffs and the humor is what makes this band special and transforms them into a Rock N’ Roll Institution

Double entendres galore out of this band hailing from Australia. Humorous and hard-rocking songs from the Bon Scott era should not be missed.

Essential albums include Let There Be Rock, Powerage, and High Voltage.

Essential songs include Riff Raff, Let There Be Rock, TNT, Dirty Deeds and Whole Lotta Rosie but you’ll miss great deep cuts like Gone Shootin’, Down Payment Blues, Rocker, Hell Ain’t a Bad Place to Be, Bad Boy Boogie, and Kicked in the Teeth.

Early albums are raw and underproduced giving them an immediacy lacking on releases after 1978. Arguably, after 1980 AC/DC fails to live up to standards and there is little to invest in; save your money.

Influential Aussie band who knew how to write riffs for the ages. The Young Brothers were a potent combination with either lead singer's voice.

Pretty narrow and not particularly complex, but they do what they do really, really well.

If you know the word ‘bogan’ then you will also know that this music is the soundtrack to a bogan’s life. In fact, you will not be remembered as a true bogan in perpetuity unless an AckerDacker song plays at your wedding and your funeral. Bogans are generally not expansive in their tastes. They like their meat and 2 veg, stay loyal to single brew of beer, are divided into two tribes of Holden or Ford worshipers, think the mullet is always in fashion, and like to damage their brains listening to simple, heavy, limited chord ranging music. Unlike Rednecks though they are often loveable larrikins, with an underrated sense of humour and have an uncanny superpower of being able to see through bullshit. This is the Aussie reflection of enjoying life’s simple pleasures with your middle index finger raised nonchalantly.

AC/DC are too sandy same for my liking but their Bon Scott era stuff is as good as hard rock gets and Brian Johnson’s era never needed to go any further than Back in Black which is an out-and-out classic. Everything thereafter is just an attempt to hold on to that high point, or musical zeitgeist, but failing miserably.

Ride On is so very cool and chilled and is a nice departure from the fist shaking stuff, and Jailbreak is an early encapsulation of their Aussie, tight-jeaned strut.

They're fun and energetic, and they have some pretty iconic songs. Creativity is not their biggest asset though.

My rating is for the Bon Scott years, the early albums are far better and more imaginative. Brian Johnson is fine but Bon had something subversive about him.
