Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 81.8/100, a mean average of 80.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 80.6/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 15.8.

Imagine calling Pitchfork a "powerful source of music knowledge".
Okay chart though, it's what you would expect from Pitchfork.

Love 9 of the albums, so quite good but no Massive Attack, Muse or coldplay, they have great albums.

Great they have Radiohead but not too much else to latch onto.

Well, I disagree with several choices (Yoshimi is criminally underrated and Kid A wouldn't be my number one), but you can't deny the strenght of the chart as a whole.

This is definitely a pretty solid chart. I can't decide if I like this or NME better. Like NME, the order of the albums bothers me a little, but overall the album selection is nice. However, I'm a little inclined to tilt toward the NME list because Pitchfork has no Muse :(
