This is my favourite decade my chart is dominated by Bowie, Elton John & Stevie Wonder but hey its the 70's. Electric Warrior was the first album I ever owned, so it has a special meaning for me, I still have the original vinyl copies of 50% of these albums. I have included some iconic "Best Of" albums that are regarded very highly, I love all types of music and I loved exploring music recommended by others, I discovered Soul and Country-Rock during this decade.

The 2nd proper album from Ms. Armatrading is an improvement on Whatevers for Us. This is mostly an acoustic album with some piano driven tracks the stand out tracks being Dryland, Cool Blue, Travelled So Far, Come When You Need Me & So Good. Overall a good album but better albums were to follow.

I bought this album after Rumours and find it just as good to listen to. It was the first album with Buckingham/Nicks songs (they has just joined the band). It is a happier album than Rumours and includes Rhiannon and Landslide two Stevie Nicks numbers that they still perform live today.

An autobiographical album telling the story of the early days of the Elton/Bernie partnership. The tracks cover their meeting (the title track), writing to order for other artists (Bitter Fingers) Elton's suicide attempt (Someone Saved My Life Tonight) and various other aspects of their respective experiences/partnership. Another album that transcends time great songs and a great concept.

Another favourite Floyd album not a weak track on this one although Shine On.... the Sid Barrett tribute dominates the album, the title track & Welcome To the Machine are two of their best songs but inevitably Shine On You Crazy Diamond still comes out on top.

A great debut album from the Wilson sisters contains so many great songs the only track that I give less than 80/100 is Sing Child. Overall great album Magic Man & Crazy On You along with Soul Of The Sea are some of their best tracks ever.

This to me is like two separate albums because Sides 1&2 are so superior to Sides 3&4. I tend to listen to the third and fourth sides (tracks 7-15) as a separate album I can appreciate it better that way. In The Light, Ten Years Gone & The Wanton Song are the best tracks on Sides 3&4. The first 6 tracks on this double album are absolutely amazing some of the best songs ever delivered by Zeppelin Custard Pie, Kashmir, Trampled Underfoot & In My Time Of Dying are far superior to any thing else Led Zeppelin did after this album. Houses Of The Holy is another great song apparently left over from the album of the same name. An absolute must listen to double album if only for the first 2 sides.

We both have the 70's as our favourite decade and the number of exceptional albums to choose from is simply outrageous. That said, we have 25 albums in common ~ interestingly your #100: Dylan's Blood On The Tracks is my #1 ~ and that, better than anything, explains where our personal musical journey takes a different route. I was surprised to see some classic, in my mind, 70's UK artists missing ~ Jethro Tull, Cat Stevens, The Who, The Clash (to name but a few). Overall a nice chart that I enjoyed wandering through.

This is a phenomenal list. Almost every album is deep on substance. Then there are some that are just great to listen to. Their substance comes from just how damn great they sound and make you feel (Rumours for example). Awesome.
