Commercially, this is the most outstanding Suede album. Suede are not only coming up, they are already on top here! Besides the well-known hits, there are quite a few underrated gems to be found. From this point, Suede would move on to make "Coming Downs"!

Aphex Twin cares about making great music probably because his audience does too. This album, compared to the "Selected Ambient Works" series, marks a shift from the more ambient to the more "intelligently danceable", which still means it will give you the chills!

A perfect way to escape from anything that isn't critical danger. These floaty new age melodies are as soft for the ears as velour is for the body.

Good thing David Bowie called it "Earthling", because this album otherwise misrepresents him as someone not from Earth! It's David Bowie mixed with heavy drum 'n' bass, a dish exactly as weird as it sounds. I vote for this as strangest Bowie album!

"Summer in Hell" as some haters have dubbed it! It was a commercial failure and critics point at it as the artistic low point of the band's whole career. The bottom songs are decent, but quite average. Other songs are lame, but the good fun kind of lame. Others again are fairly strong if not at the very top of Beach Boys' career. Flawed, but not something "transcendentally" bad as it's made out to be!

You could definitely make a statement about Muse being in showbiz with Matt Bellamy's operatic vocals and the overall theatrical sound. Not quite as bombastic and fully developed as subsequent Muse albums, but the muscles of the band are still much evident on this strong debut.

The last album by Therese Grankvist under the alias Drömhus. The songs are a little more punchy than on "Drömmer" - it feels like the beat is faster, possibly the music is more pure dance. The vocals, however, are still innocently seductive... and Swedish! Oddly enough, "Stjärna På Himmelen" is one of the least memorable songs here for me despite being almost good enough to win what appears to be the Swedish melody grand prix (you can look it up, but it finished second!), apparently.

It's oh so guiet one moment and pulsatingly trancey the next. "Post" is exceptionally diverse and possibly maybe Björk's best album. Enjoy!

Beautifully angsty guitar rock full of (post-) teenage angst! These tunes will rock you, maybe also leave a tear on your face!

Admittedly, the third of its kind. Enigma have found their winner formula, but that doesn't make this one less special. This third chapter has a way of... morphing through time. It is darker and more despairful, like a last cry for help! If only they would stop reusing that same opening snippet from the first album...

A fascinating chart--full of surprises. Ok Computer, Grace, Nevermind, and The Bends are all fantastic albums deserving of their positions here. I've never listened to The Good Life, nor am I familiar with many Danish artists generally, so that's one I'm going to try out to expand my musical horizons. Thanks for sharing this list!

Great chart. I like the way you've nailed your appreciation of Mariah Carey to the mast and put it out there, with her albums rubbing shoulders with more established classics. Kudos for making this chart a celebration of what you enjoy.
