Top 80 Music Albums of the 1950s by AgainstMeAgainstYou

Woo! My first decade chart EVER!

It's been a great ride to finally get to this point, and while I might not have the time to contribute to decade charts like I do to my main overall chart, I'm gonna try and have a lot of fun doing this.

I figured the '50s were a good place to start, as this is a fairly short chart for me to make and it's the earliest decade that I'm allowed to make a chart for. The '50s weren't populated with great albums; rather, it was a decade of great collections of songs. You see, the difference between an album and a collection of songs is this: a group of songs, meant to be listened to in sequence and together as a cohesive whole, vs. a single or two and a bunch of other really good tracks thrown in. In the '50s, people didn't come to the realization that you could make the former, so everyone instead made the latter. This chart intends to show the exceptions to the rule.

You'll find a lot of Miles Davis here, as well as several artists who get two or three nods each.
