I love listening to the banter on the deluxe edition- that night at Leeds just sounds incredibly fun and good spirited. But I must admit the 6-track version perfecetly captures the musical significance of the Who live- the grit and muscle, the otherworldly drone, the tender spacing, and their boisterous quality.

Deep Purple had tamed since "In Rock" and produced relatively "standard" blues-rock compositions by this point in time, but their musicianship is still impeccable. The end result is maybe the perfect classic rock album.

If liberal arts college was an album, here it is! The pains of long distance relationships and breakups, wisdom beyond one's years, and drunken meanderings. Musically, Dylan's adoration of old folk and country is maybe at its most authentic peak for any moment in his career.

FF's follow-up to "The Colour & the Shape" must have been very dissappointing to hear at first. But spend some time with it, and you will fall deeply in love. Dave mentioned that it was pretty much made with him "chilling at home, having barbecues, and listening to the sounds of the studio out in a Virginia backyard." If this was the last thing I listened to before I died, I think I would go pretty peacefully.

So much brilliant effort put into this chart!! Your notes are extensive and personal (especially those for Illinois!), and though looking at the first couple of picks I got worried that I'd find things a little too classic-rock orientated, the smattering of jazz and hip hop provided a refreshing change from the rest of your picks. Well done!
