There are moments on this album that contemporary musicians still haven't figured out. Even aside from all this, there's a unique Cold War feeling to the songs that is irreplaceable. [First added to this chart: 01/07/2015]

A kaleidoscope of colors, musical textures, songs of friendship and communion, worldly cultures, all drowning in a hippy melting pot that's topped off with a pinch of avant-garde art. This seemingly bizarre combination nevertheless was grounded enough in recognizable flavors to win universal approval. [First added to this chart: 01/07/2015]

I've slowly come to realize that this collection of songs, official album or not, represents the some of the best of what the Beatles have to offer. You can really dance to these songs, little creative snippets that have bits and pieces, seemingly, of the whole alternative and indie revolution to follow. More than that, these songs capture universal human feelings (love, nostalgia, discovery) with an inimitable degree of ingenuity. [First added to this chart: 01/07/2015]

What a unique collection of songs, and impeccably written. John and Paul's songs define the essence of the singer-songwriter. [First added to this chart: 01/07/2015]

Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

This chart is rated in the top 4% of all charts on BestEverAlbums.com. This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 89.1/100, a mean average of 89.2/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 89.6/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 8.0.

I really like to see some love for Hendrix, he seems to be a bit overlooked on this site... but well, that includes me actually.

I love how you aren't entirely skewed towards old or new music on this chart, I find that fairly rare on this site

So much brilliant effort put into this chart!! Your notes are extensive and personal (especially those for Illinois!), and though looking at the first couple of picks I got worried that I'd find things a little too classic-rock orientated, the smattering of jazz and hip hop provided a refreshing change from the rest of your picks. Well done!

I really dig your taste hard, man. And even though all your little descriptions are astounding, I will say that your Bringing It All Back Home is exceptionally on-point!

I really wish I could give this chart a 150/100 after seeing you say Stranger Things Have Happened is the highlight of Echoes, Silence, Patience, and Grace.

Quadrophenia rules! So does Superunknown. Lots of good choices here. Glad to see someone else appreciates There is Nothing Left to Lose.
