Sufjan really blew me away with this...i mean this album is filled with a lot of the same sounding string arrangements, but still every song has this different emotional tone to them...if you can make me cry from Music...you have succeeded in making a damn good album

This album is perfect. Seriously. 10 tracks compiled together for Perfection. Lot's of great things about the record. The hardhitting drums. Josh Hommes bloody brilliant falsetto. Mixes up heavy and slow parts together very seamlessly. But in the end the reason why i like this album is because...it's catchy...like, very catchy

An album i was able to digest right of the bat..it truly is one of the ideal albums to label under the title "Indie". It's hard to talk about, but how about it being #9 on the overall's do to explain it's reasoning

A really enjoyable chart! Good reads and personal picks.

Some recommendations to give some more variety outside the top 300:

Sung Tongs by Animal Collective
Hypnotic UnderWorld by Ghost
Atrocity Exhibition by Danny Brown
Octopus by Gentle Giant
Future Days and Ege Bamyasi, both by Can

Some might suit you, some might not. Go figure!

Totally dig the comments, and also some fantastic picks. Haven't listened to Interpol in some time, gotta give TOTBL a listen now!

Definitely some records I wanna checkout on here. I don't care for Coldplay, Drake, Arcade Fire, or Linkin Park much. But even with that said we have 31 albums and 20 artists in common, so we have pretty similar taste. I'd let you have aux if we were driving in a car together, which I wouldn't allow many to do.

I almost live in Ontario. I live about 2 miles from the Canadian border. I can SEE Ontario from my fifth floor balcony tho. Well, I can see the bridge anyway .

What can I say, you got great taste. A lot of the classics I adore are here too (Unknown Pleasures, The Queen Is Dead, Ziggy Stardust), some more modern masterpieces (Deja, TDAG, For Emma), and some emo releases that don't get enough love (Flatsound and Merchant Ships).

Also, if you're into Merchant Ships, definitely listen to Old Gray. An Autobiography is on my overall, the dex EP is the best single/EP I've ever heard, and their part on the Tiny Moving Parts split is incredible, too.

Also would welcome any recommendations you might have, "especially if [they] are emo and super angsty." ;)

Superior commenting and personal thoughts. Many choices in common but also some divergence from mine. Great chart, great work, my fellow Ontarian! Not just one but two by CSH. Some others here that I will need to check out sometime.
