This is original. It's a psycho-electronic song that created mind-blowing grooves without the slightest nostalgia for its rock past. Bobby Gillespie is a genius [First added to this chart: 12/14/2023]

Kurt's raspy and angry voice and his guitar timbre had a huge impact on me as a teenager. The melancholy of this album already gave me indications of my depressive tendency even when I was still young. [First added to this chart: 03/23/2015]

Lobão was a very controversial rock star in the 80s. The guy was a good musician, with great ideas and songs that appeared on the top music charts at the time. The crazy years were left behind and he studied all kinds of music and instruments. He became a great songwriter and led a crusade against the record companies. In 1999 it was released this dark but at the same time deeply sentimental album. I always listened at difficult times in my life. I have a special kindness for this record. Indio solari is a legend for Argentina and all of south America. It's a religion. Draws crowds like a personality cult. This is cerebral art rock. It is dense, mystical, deep, conceptual and complex. The lyrics are pure genius. [First added to this chart: 10/24/2023]

Many love it and some hate it. Impossible to remain indifferent to this band in Brazil. One of the greatest in rock history in the country. A powerful trio with Gessinger's deep and far-fetched lyrics and a sound that sometimes bumps into progressive and other times into melodic pop or folk [First added to this chart: 03/23/2015]

One of the bands of my life. A simple rock in the best Britpop style, but that enchants me. It was exciting to be able to watch the band live in São Paulo in 2013 [First added to this chart: 04/01/2015]

In 2014 I´ve finally got a job and leave home to a new adventure. In my new city Belo Horizonte I looked for the list of the best albums of the year and started exploring. This work by Mac Demarco caught my attention. The album became my soundtrack on my way to work in the train everyday. [First added to this chart: 03/17/2020]

I was never a big fan of the Strokes because I lived through the oasis, blur and britpop bands intensely in the 90s. So recently I listened to this album in an unpretentious way in a difficult moment in the pandemic and I found it surprisingly wonderful. I don't remember exactly when and how I became a big fan of the band. I think it was little by little because of my current preference for new psychedelic rock bands from the 2010's to the present day. And this record stuck in my mind.

Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

This chart is rated in the top 13% of all charts on BestEverAlbums.com. This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 87.6/100, a mean average of 87.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 87.8/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 8.3.

I'd agree with moondance but I'm assuming that that's because your chart is, as you say, still under construction. Even as it is, really interesting and diverse chart. looking forward to coming back once it's finish (although, let's face it, no chart is ever completely finished!!!!!!)

The first 40 albums, along with the comments are fantastic. So unique, so interesting ~ 95/100 territory. But from about 44 onwards, the charts seems to loose coherence, the album choices seem odd (compared to what came before) and feels like it has been chucked together. Sorry if that's not the case, but that is how it feels to me.

Excelente chart!
