Os Mutantes is the best Brazilian band of all time and undoubtedly one of the biggest in the world in the 60s. I believe that in terms of psychedelia they were the best in their time. Arnaldo Baptista is simply a genius. Hard to choose an album to be on the list, it could honestly be any of them. I pick the most progressive one. Os Mutantes are essential for anyone who likes music! [First added to this chart: 05/06/2015]

"Averse to criticism after a bad moment, the Ira! Members locked themselves in the studios, and decided to create a record where they did not have to show anything to anyone, just for them even though it was still possible to do something they liked. Anger of the members towards the press made them decide to self-produce.This was one of the best records in Brazilian rock history.Psicoacústica took shape and became what many today call visionary, daring, creative and even cursed and suicidal. psychedelia with hip hop, rap, reggae, mod, heavy metal and other less relevant genres make the album difficult to assimilate in the first auditions. But after careful listening, it is impossible not to savor every second of a seminal album that turned to be years later the most acclaimed and worshipful record of the band." The most successful Brazilian music artist in the one that I consider his best work perhaps together with the album called Urubu. In partnership with Claus Ogermann, who delivers some of his best work on this album. It's one of their best efforts. Also the influence of the Brazilian genius os classical music Heitor Villa-Lobos is felt everywhere. In the 70s, we have a slightly different Tom Jobim. Moving towards a more mature sound, I have drifted away a little bit from his Bossa-Nova roots, exploring other sounds like electric-jazz or MPB. An obligatory album for those who like Brazilian music. [First added to this chart: 06/09/2015]

One of the best brazilian albums of all time. Great arrangements in a sometimes melodic samba with enigmatic lyrics with hints of soul, blues and rock n roll [First added to this chart: 02/12/2016]

Marcos Valle is one of the most creative brazilian artists e maybe the best composer. He was into Bossa Nova in the early years and made history being one of the most important artist in the genre. After that he goes into a new music. A mix of Bossa, Jazz, popular music and rock. Vento Sul is one of the most intense album of his career. It has a little bit of Progressive Rock and with brazilian music. Maybe his best work [First added to this chart: 03/13/2018]

It is a classic in Brazilian discography. The best of Chico in my opiniom. A masterpiece. At the height of the military dictatorship, the album has a wide social critical content blended with more samba/bossa songs like Chico style in the 60s. "Construção" and "Deus Lhe Pague" are memorable songs here [First added to this chart: 03/23/2015]

A stigmatized artist, labeled as an artist of simple and funny songs... Totally wrong! This album is a masterpiece. It's not a rock album, but it can be compared to rock operas. It was controversial at the time. Critics and people didn't understand the album at the time of its release. It has sensitive and deeply critical lyrics. You should give it a chance! Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

This chart is rated in the top 13% of all charts on BestEverAlbums.com. This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 87.6/100, a mean average of 87.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 87.8/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 8.3.

I'd agree with moondance but I'm assuming that that's because your chart is, as you say, still under construction. Even as it is, really interesting and diverse chart. looking forward to coming back once it's finish (although, let's face it, no chart is ever completely finished!!!!!!)

The first 40 albums, along with the comments are fantastic. So unique, so interesting ~ 95/100 territory. But from about 44 onwards, the charts seems to loose coherence, the album choices seem odd (compared to what came before) and feels like it has been chucked together. Sorry if that's not the case, but that is how it feels to me.

Excelente chart!
