This is my first chart, and I chose a simple theme (My 100 Favorite Albums). I am a big fan of alt-rock (specifically albums in the garage rock revival, piano rock, and psychadelic rock subgenres), classic rock, jazz, and a fan of some pop and rap (if there are good narratives or good tongue-in-cheek lyricism). Hit me up if you have a good album recommendation within those genres that aren't already on here. Thanks!

Does this even need to be explained? One of the most influential albums of all-time and the beginning of The Beatles peak. Though, like the cover art may imply, it is a not as vibrant nor as colorful as "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band", but, without this album, "Sgt. Pepper" wouldn't exist.

So much variation on this album and it is ALL WONDERFUL! Very odd to imagine the 90s without Pixies' influence.

Such an amazing overall album! Understandably a favorite among rap fans, but should be a must-listen for overall music fans as Kendrick's usage of neo-soul, funk, blues, and jazz makes every take on this album enjoyable! Lyrics and song structure are also lavish and appealing to the ears and hit on so many levels. This album doesn't hold back on making you think...especially about rappers...even more, about society's views on rappers and black culture in America. The fact that this album is a concept album just enhances it's lust in the music industry.

My first complete rap album I bought (I was 13) and definitely my favorite! Kanye expands his musical variation with samples from many genres while also adding entertaining skits and broadening the theme of education to social situations where someone could judge you about having money rather than not having money. A great sophomore album by Kanye!

It took me til "Superb Owl" XL to listen through every Coldplay album completely. Parachutes fell along the sweet part of my taste buds, with Coldplay putting out more of an alternative rock album, though it has their spin on alt-rock. Songs like "Don't Panic", "Shiver", "Spies", "Yellow" and "Trouble" are immediate downloads for me and really hit home. For some reason, this album isn't looked at nearly as much as it should, maybe because A Rush of Blood to the Head had "The Scientist" and "Clocks" and they were spun a ton on the radio. Parachutes is awesome though.

This album hearkens back to 80s dance rock so much that you'd think Sting was their bassist! Though "Shut Up and Dance" is WAYYY overplayed at this point, in the context of this album, it works! As long as Walk the Moon doesn't stray far into pop, as they have a lot of alt talent and thrive in the dance rock genre, they'll be fresh for years to come! Favorite songs: "Sidekick", "Down in the Dumps", "Work This Body" and "Aquaman".

More focused than their previous album, "Torches", as it deals with society and the impact that it has on those of all ages, mainly targeting the 16-40 year-olds. "Torches" focused more on the synth and electronic aspect of Foster the People's sound, but "Supermodel" adventures more into the organic instrumentation and does so very well.

Solid chart though maybe a little heavy on the recent decades. That and I'm not a big fan of some of your most represented artists: Arctic Monkeys, 21 Pilots, etc. it seems we really like some of the same genres though your preference may be for the rawer sound (Arctic Monkeys, Walkmen, Shins, Strokes) while I tend to go for the overproduced sound (Muse).
Love to see Ben Folds so well represented. He's a genius and extremely talented; I hope that future generations will look back at him the way we look at Elton John or Billy Joel's music. I'm guessing you've probably seen him live already if he's your favorite artist, I'd highly recommend seeing him live with an orchestra next time he does a tour like that! Incredible stuff

Aaargh! You posted Blurryface before me!!! Though it only came out a few days ago, I haven't stopped listening to it! Definitely my favorite album already...and I've been listening to a lot of music in the last few years. You have a lot of The Strokes on your list, and I definitely agree that Room On Fire is better than Is This It. ROF has more refinement to it and isn't as fuzzy, though ITI is awesome! But go twenty one pilots!
