Top 100 Greatest Music Albums by dgarr22 Unknown

This list constantly changes, the top 10 to 20 are pretty stable, but as a whole it is not.

(The quotes are picked for various reasons, weather it's how the singer says the line, the actual meaning, or how classic it might be, like the opener on Led Zeppelin IV. It could just be there for being the catchiest on the album or because I like singing it the most out of others on the album.)

Also, I hate the 1 per artist rule, or only an "X" number of albums from a decade, just because an artist makes 4 great albums, doesn't mean that the 4th best should be down graded. I feel that using that rule is to just appeal the audience with more diversity, but doesn't accomplish the goal of these lists. Maybe I will reach that point, but I could only see myself getting to the point to only allow 3 per artist, not just 1.

Also, recommendations are WELCOME, I am surprised with my rating, considering these are "basic" albums, and have a lot to listen to before I truely start considering this a 90ish/100.

Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

This chart is rated in the top 2% of all charts on BestEverAlbums.com. This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 91.0/100, a mean average of 90.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 91.9/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 14.8.

This chart looks much more personal than the last time I saw it! Seems we agree on the 00's classics, I like your taste in more experimental rock and alternative. To that end, have you heard any of these?

Soul Coughing - El Oso
Gotye - Like Drawing Blood
Spacehog - The Chinese Album

Or for a slower denser experience,
Jerkcurb - Air Con Eden

Just some suggestions for your next musical pilgrimage!

Hello!
I left a rating a while back but since it's chart of the day I thought I'd leave a comment.
Really appreciate the honesty in your bio, as well as the lovely attention to detail in your notes for each picks, something which I overlooked before and so have upped your rating.
I do feel the chart is a little too 2000s orientated (not the worst thing in the world!), certainly over ten times the amount of records from the 80s seems a little harsh. Here's a few underappreciated gems from that decade which I hope you enjoy:

Galaxie 500 - On Fire
Talk Talk - Spirit Of Eden
Dinosaur Jr - You're Living All Over Me

... though feel free to check out my own (admittedly small) chart for more abstract stuff from other decades.
Overall I love your chart man, keep it up!
