Every artist take something from the previous generations to make something new, that's obvious. DJ Shadow did that literally, using hundreds of records to make something so completely different you barely can recognize the originals. When i did so for the guitar part of Changeling (wich is from one of the songs on Stratosfear by Tangerine Dream) i was amazed that it fit so perfectly the rest. It's like if that was made by Shadow himself. [First added to this chart: 08/18/2015]

The picks that aren’t completely obscure are VERY basic.
However, I convinced myself to check out Nusrat - it’s not everyday I encounter an album from Pakistan. They certainly are good vibes. And wow! Massive Attack remixed one of his songs before they made Blue Lines.
