Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 66.0/100, a mean average of 57.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 57.4/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 26.9.

@alexgagne I like it how you said nothing about 8x Radiohead, 5x Muse 4x Beatles, 3x Alice In Chains, 3x Led Zeppelin (4.6 per artist) but when it's 5x Good Charlotte, 3x Sum 41 and 3x Green Day (3.67 per artist) suddenly there are too many albums per artist.

If you don't like his choices, just say it, don't try to wash him with bullshit.

5 albums of the same band in the top 10. But, well, 20 albums in common.

1. Top 8 is great... Then, Goodcharlotte?
2. Too many albums from the same artist (Radiohead is OK, but 5x Sum Goodcharlotte, 3x Sum 41, 3x Green Day?
3. Backstreet Boys
4. I'm still wondering if you are mix of troll and top album picker.

It's kinda cool, and I have to say.. your tastes are great mostly.
But sure, try to experiment other, maybe international or classic ones…
You have my teenager days described on your list… and I listened 90% of your list for years. Keep going...

We have some in commum, but I couldn't give a higher rating for one chart that have more than one album from Radiohead on TOP 10...And look, 5 on TOP 10! But of course we're talking about personal taste, so...keep going and improve your list!

I want to give this chart a perfect score because of the Good Charlotte, but your disgusting array of Radiohead albums keeps me from doing so.

Why are people so negative to this chart? The chart contains a lot of Radiohead since they´re the best band in the world, it´s as simple as that. Even though you seem to have a slightly different music taste than me, it´s still a really decent chart as far as I´m concerned.

lethalnezzle I feel sorry about your ignorance condition. I'm not a bullied teen and I know all of Radiohead's song catalogue. They're my favourite band. If "Creep" was the only song I knew, OK Computer wouldn't be at the TOP of the list as it's obviously not on that album. Seems like you put very little thought into your comment.
