Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)
This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 85.3/100, a mean average of 84.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 85.0/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 7.2.

Great chart man!
Wow, this chart is actually really great! When I first saw The Stone Roses/Revolver/Led Zeppelin IV in your top first couple of picks I thought that the chart would go pretty much as I expected, but was pleasantly surprised by the amount of experimental and hip hop that kept cropping up. Would love to see some notes on the albums return at some point, maybe engaging with @benpaco instead of just getting rid of them altogether. Will be sure to return at some point!
Seriously good chart.
I love your chart.
This is really enjoyable, unpredictable and good.
Man, the choices of albums here are fairly good but the writeups just feel weird. Why are you "not "supposed"" to like Stone Roses? Why use "Meat is Murder" as Morissey's mopey moments when he got so, so much mopier solo? What's wrong with Vicar in a Tutu? When you say "electric is made for rage while acoustic is made for sorrow", that's a definitive statement when you've got The Smiths, with their electric guitar driven sorrow-filled songs just a few spots above? "I'm gonna be that one guy that doesn't make a lame reference to the Beatles' album in a very not clever way, like everyone else that ever reviewed this album." doesn't make any real sense as you just referenced the Beatles album and literally 95% (I checked) of the reviews on the Let It Be page don't mention The Beatles at all. "Most 80's pop albums seem to always constantly remember you that they're from the 80's with terrible synths and even worse drumming." just feels like a weird statement in general. Like what? Is this a Gary Numan problem? A Tears for Fears problem? Cars? In what world is Iron Maiden "relatively overlooked"? What does "creating overly-produced glam "metal,"" have to do with Milo Goes To College? For that matter, what does the sentence "is a nice short 24 minutes and only 15 minutes" even mean? Especially since Milo Goes to College is neither, at just over 22 minutes? Why hold yourself to one "obligatory hip hop album"?
IDK man, you do you. It's good albums but you kind of lost me.
I think you wouldn't like my chart but I really enjoyed yours :'D I like the personal comments :D
