Top 78 Greatest Music Albums by willmaatealrii Unknown

Hello chart viewers, few disclaimers:

Yeah I realise this chart is incredibly repetitive, but it's also honest.
There are also a lot of fairly obvious picks, Bowie, Pink Floyd, Beatles etc, however there is also a decent amount of slightly less known and interesting picks to be had
Comments are in the works, I pinky promise.

Enjoy

This marks the point when I really took notice of Tame Impala, the thumping bass on 'The Less I know the Better' is enough to perk the ears of a deaf man. The production is incredible, the songwriting is also magnificent, Parker draws you in with the stories and holds you there with his voice and his vast talent on numerous instruments. Now this is more like it for a Frusciante-less RHCP. There are many highs and lows I feel on this album. The highs including The Longest Waves, Sick Love and The Getaway being the highs, and Detroit, Hunter and Tis Condergea (or whatever) being the lows. The key difference between this and I'm With You is Josh. Josh is on this album playing with absolute confidence in what he is doing, his guitar is now at the front of the mix and he is starting to give a more Frusciante/Hendrix type sound, which is a vast improvement on his reductionist approach of the previous album. This is my Christmas album, just because I discovered it in December, I avoid listening to it and then power through it around twenty times around the holidays every year. Worth it undoubtedly. [First added to this chart: 03/10/2017]

Best album of 2016? Definitely up there, why Donald spends so much time rapping (not that I dislike his rapping) is beyond me, because this is by far his best work. The opening track reminded me slightly of Prince when I first heard it. [First added to this chart: 03/10/2017]

This another album that everyone loves to slag off, and I completely understand, if I weren't a massive Peppers fan, I wouldn't have thought much of it either. The first album without Frusciante was always going to disappoint and annoy and in places it does fail. No longer is the guitarist the driving force behind the band and it is over to Flea and Anthony to take the reigns. There are ballads to be had in Police Station and Brendan's Death Song. The album offers funky bass riffs in Factory of Faith and Rain Dance Maggie. The lyrics are generally decent, particularly in Meet Me at the Corner and Police Station. However, there are some dud songs in there too, like Dance, Dance, Dance and Happiness Loves Company. Overall, a very decent effort from a band who had just lost (arguably) one of the greatest songwriters and guitarists of all time. Best tracks: Monarchy of Roses, Police Station, Meet Me at the Corner. [First added to this chart: 03/17/2017]

A hilariously shit movie soundtrack in once sense, a half decent collection of songs half decently sung. Some tracks are decent, like the Clap and Gang of Lust. Other tracks are pure dog shit, like Ring Round and African Child. Again, only here for nostalgia this one, I wouldn't personally dig the album out and bother to listening, unless you've listened to literally everything else. Or you could just watch the film and consume the songs that way, the film's alright. [First added to this chart: 03/17/2017]

Possibly the saddest album of all time? Phil Everum, a bit of a hero of mine, matter of factly describes the everyday tragedy that has become his life. This album seems so real that you almost go through the stages of greif just listening to it. Muscially, it is a striped back lo fi classic, sounds like Phil may have recorded lying on the floor in his kitchen, guitar in hand. [First added to this chart: 09/17/2018]
