Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)
This chart is rated in the top 10% of all charts on BestEverAlbums.com. This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 87.9/100, a mean average of 87.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 88.5/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 8.5.

you have a very interesting top 20 albums that are full of unexpected surprises.
i really love to see that.
it gives me a chance to listen to your albums that i never heard of or considered to be
awesome. great list.
Although this list is rather too focused on the 1980s and 1990s for my liking, and includes a significant number of artists who were part of the grunge fad and lacked even the undoubted talent and originality of Soundgarden, there are a lot of surprising and interesting choices on this list that make it by no means bad.
Choices like Mano Negra, ‘The Lion and the Cobra’, Sisters of Mercy, ‘The Uplift Mofo Party Plan’, Body Count, and to a lesser extent ‘Songs for Drella’ (David Keenan had that one back in 2003), Faith No More, and Living Color are unexpected enough to seriously make me think this a reasonably personal and interesting chart.
On the debit side, although it appears as if this is supposed to be “one album per artist”, there is both Lou Reed and Lou Reed & John Cale, and both Jane’s Addiction and Porno for Pyros.
Some interesting picks here...especially in which albums by certain artists...ie we have 8 albums in common, but 18 artists in common.
Really interesting chart!!
28 artist in common! Very nice chart!
11 artists in common. hmmmm..
good chart.
nice to see some picks rom belgium.
I´ve seen deus live in the 90´s(I think): Fine band anad Blue Blot is OK as well.
Never heard Deus but will have to correct that. Good to see Kick, Steel Wheels, (which contains the best Stones song in Almost Hear You Sigh), and the amazing Levelling The Land by The Levellers. One of the very best albums of the 90s.
Great chart.
STP, Prodigy, Kraftwerk!!! Awesome.
This top 10 is so interesting!
