Psychedelic genius amazing concept with quite possibly my favorite cover art of all time. Truly iconic record that really made me see music as art and made me want to start making lists like this of my favorite or "Best" records. A day in the Life is among the finest pop songs ever recorded.

Layla And Other Assorted Love SongsMixed Nationality Derek & The Dominos
A Tremendous album of love beauty and pain. A tremendous pairing of two guitar gods. Duane Allman and Eric Clapton are brilliant together. It is well worth seeking the 4 cd package with some amazing outtakes. The best of which is an entire disc of instrumental jamming between Allman and Clapton.

Tough gritty album. This sounds like the streets of NYC in the mid 90's. Sparse beats highlight that velvet flow of probably the greatest rapper who will ever live. Cut down in his prime he was a true talent of unparalleled skill.

Not much in common (only 8 albums & 8 artists) but phenomenal choices in rock, hip-hop, funk, soul, prog, jazz, etc. Super rich and inclusive. Great notes too. Loved seeing Cat Stevens at #12, he was one of my first loves and that album was among the first few I owned. I saved some of your rap selections to listen to later. None of your choices seemed cliche (Even Beatles at #1), I'm glad you chose this method of entry. Saving this chart to my favorites.

I liked reading your notes. They are really sensible. And I liked what you wrote about trying to make an honest chart about what are REALLY your favorite albums, rather than what you think SHOULD be your favorite albums. But even that isn't as easy as it sounds, as I've discovered.
