This list has gone through many incarnations. I used to care if people liked it so I had it tweaked a certain way then I tried just one album per artist for a while. this however is my purest 100 Favorite Music albums of all-time. I didn't really know how to define best so i am going with the 100 that bring me the most pleasure and or make me think in a productive way.

The Marshall Mathers LPUnited States Eminem
What a wordsmith, Hard to believe this record is over 15 years old already. Amazing talent and flow with an ability to create the most uncanny rhymes while delivering shocking tales of varying degrees some to prove a point some to settle a beef and some for sheer comic glee. Stan is arguably one of the Genres best songs.

RelapseUnited States Eminem
The most disturbing album on this list but it is mesmerizing. Its like watching a great slasher film, eminem even uses slasher imagery in many of the songs. Some call it horror core some say no either way the album is eerie and compelling. A fantastic look into a troubled mind attempting to get sober a scary and uncomfortable portrait at times. But a powerful artistic statement.

If I included more than 1 album per artist in my chart, it would have something like 60% in common with yours! Excellent choices, some old-school favorites, and a couple of suggestions that were new to me and I will check out.

Excellent chart. Some real groovy juice. This is music you can really feel and I like how it's quite unpredictable but still made of albums I feel like most who like music should easily appreciate.

Not much in common (only 8 albums & 8 artists) but phenomenal choices in rock, hip-hop, funk, soul, prog, jazz, etc. Super rich and inclusive. Great notes too. Loved seeing Cat Stevens at #12, he was one of my first loves and that album was among the first few I owned. I saved some of your rap selections to listen to later. None of your choices seemed cliche (Even Beatles at #1), I'm glad you chose this method of entry. Saving this chart to my favorites.

I liked reading your notes. They are really sensible. And I liked what you wrote about trying to make an honest chart about what are REALLY your favorite albums, rather than what you think SHOULD be your favorite albums. But even that isn't as easy as it sounds, as I've discovered.
