Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)
This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 86.9/100, a mean average of 85.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 87.2/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 11.6.

Interesting left of field chart. Plenty of obscure releases to investigate.
Lots of really primo stuff on this chart. Since I like so much of what you have chosen that I'm familiar with, I'm going to investigate some of those things on your list I'm not familiar with.
Probably best 70s chart on the site. Fantastic to explore and find out new jewels.
Great decade chart.
Great number 1, and lots to enjoy on here. Lost gems, forgotten greats, mixed with a few oddities. I like to Boulders on the list.
NILSON....THE POINT
For me that said it all with this chart....wonderful
Did you intentionally limit yourself to only one album per artist? The variety is fantastic with some great obscurities. Given the general tone I'd suggest you check out "666" by Aphrodite's Child.
Some really, really nice picks. Also a lot of albums I don't know but you got me interessed for them.
Buckethead is an incredible virtuoso guitarist, some of his work is very abstract and not for me, but other works are just incredible, I recommend using youtube and finding some of his live music. As for your chart now that I know the reasoning behind some choices I feel it is a very good representation of the 70's.
Hey! Well the obvious omission for me is London Calling, released in the UK in 79 so I feel it definitely deserves a top ten place in any list. Another one which at this point may seem quite cliched is Dark Side of the Moon, you have Wish you Were Here and other prog so I felt it was a strange one to miss. No 2112 by Rush which really surprised as you have some Tull and King Crimson I thought it would've been on the chart. What's Going On? By Marvin Gaye another classic album which I love. Apart from these which I would consider glaring omissions it's solid. A few I don't agree with; Chris De Burgh and Billy Joel but it's your chart. I was wondering if the reason London Calling wasn't there was because of it's late US release?
