Ramones second and more of the same, possibly even better than the first album. I bought this and Ramones in early 77 as US import pressings and they were barely off my turntable for the whole year – best band ever and a soundtrack to my youth. This is my favourite Ramones album and IMHO one of the best rock n roll records ever made. [First added to this chart: 11/04/2017]

The third of their classic first three albums and just as good as the first two, they just don't let up. [First added to this chart: 11/04/2017]

For me this is the best Stooges album and so influential, if you hear it now it seems as fresh a when it was released. Incredibly powerful and with some great songs - Search and Destroy and many others. [First added to this chart: 11/04/2017]

This is what they call seminal, a fantastic blast of noise and now with extra tracks, from the opening bars of Blitzkrieg Bop this LP does not let up - one of the best albums of all time (IMHO of course!) [First added to this chart: 11/04/2017]

Quite frankly a superb album, the band is really tight, with great songs from Mike Ness, not a weak track on this LP [First added to this chart: 11/04/2017]

I've worked out that this is my highest rated Dropkick Murphys album and I am trying to work out why. Let me say first that I like all of their albums but unlike the typical trope of bands (especially it seems punks bands) being at their most powerful and most somehow authentic in their first couple of albums the Murphys seem to have genuinely grown and developed as they have grown older as a band.
I think I like this album best because it seems like this was the cusp moment when it all came together and their subsequent releases have further brought a range of influences into their music.

This is, I think, Social Distortions, most hard rocking album. There are some great songs on here, The album starts with Dear Lover and does not let up, no filler on this album. [First added to this chart: 11/07/2017]

IMHO one of those albums that defines a whole genre, in this case punk blues. Clearly owing a lot to the cramps but taking a high velocity brand of blues and punk to add to the mix, add great vocals from Jeffrey Lee Pierce and an excellent choice of songs - especially old blues numbers and you have a classic album. Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 86.9/100, a mean average of 87.2/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 87.2/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 9.2.

So nice to see the Damned ranked here. Their first two albums should be higher in the charts.

Coooool! Not enough punk charts here, I get sick of all the Radiohead+Arcade Fire top 10s. It's not diverse but it's without any compromises, 100% honest.

A solid punk chart that is a bit...fan-ish...but solid none the less. Ramones!, E.C., Pistols, Pogues, Dolls, Stooges, Wire, Buzzcocks!...A who's who of tremendous punk. Springsteen, R.E.M. added in for color along with Nick LoweThe fandom kinda limits what what ends up being a tremendous chart for punk recommendation as I got 4 bands and more albums for my wish list.

Love a bit of punk. The Ramones were a revelation to me too. I listen to their albums all the time.
