Without the help of Crazy Horse, this album consists mainly of Neil Young and a guitar or a piano. Vocally, this might be his strongest album, but there is not enough variation for me to place this above Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere.

Imagine living in the 60s and listening this album for the first time. One of the most groundbreaking and loud pieces of music ever made, even the cover suggests you are in for a ride.

This is the album that got me into heavier music. Thirteen year old me was blown away when Little Black Submarines suddenly bursts midway.

The first Genesis album with Phil Collins and Steve Hackett in the lineup, and they shone through immediately on the first track. This is also where we first hear the beautiful harmonies between Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins.

Most people's favourite Bob Dylan album, and it is understandable. Perhaps the biggest lyrical genius in music wowed every listener with the "dirty" Like a Rolling Stone.

Two songs. What more do you need? Mike Oldfield playing most instruments himself. The highlight for me is the flute section in part 1 along with On Horseback at the end of part 2.

The start of The Beatles' greatest period. We hear them mixing more folk in their songs, plus we get to hear George Harrison playing the sitar for the first time on Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown).

The underrated genius of Peter Gabriel in his most ambitious solo record. This is a work of incredible creativity with weird sound effects and great melodies. He also gets some help by fellow genius Kate Bush on this album.

Nice chart! I don't know if you tried Gentle Giant, but based on your tastes, I think you might like it (Three Friends, Free Hand, Octopus, Gentle Giant). Also, have you heard "Time And A Word" from Yes? This album is crazy good!
