Top 100 Greatest Music Albums by armoury

Not the best at updating; my preferences change on a 60 second basis but my taste remains the same. If I were gonna pick my top five artists then it would go something like this;

1. David Bowie
2. Outkast
3. The Smiths
4. Calibre
5. The National

Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

This chart is rated in the top 2% of all charts on BestEverAlbums.com. This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 90.0/100, a mean average of 89.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 90.3/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 9.0.

Damn such nice picks! Great to see such eclectic variety in there. You should keep expanding you comments for these albums.

I too have fallen in love with Blonde recently. You should check out these two albums that feel to me to have a similar feel to them. Not necessarily directly sounding similar, but in the way that they play with noise. 22 A Million is the more similar of the two I would say, and is also my favorite of the two.

Bon Iver - 22, A Million
Low - Double Negative

Always great to see a nice serving of black music on here as it is definitely underrated (no rap in the top 50? come on!!). The other selections are wonderful as well. I finally found someone who likes The Velvet Underground s/t more than & Nico s/t

Interesting fucking list, man. I’m already happy to see a chart with some hip hop, but damn your picks are good too.

Really good chart. Surprised to see someone clearly into music not have floyd or Radiohead though.
