Prior to recording the album, Tori relocated to the south-west of England and you can hear the cultural influance on bonus tracks such as "I've Got a Brand New Combine Harvester", the typically plaintive "I am a Cider Drinker" and also on the re-imagining of her original hit single "Silent All These Years (Ooh Aar, Ooh Aar, Ooh Aar)". In retrospect, the decision to let Phil Spector loose on the then unfinished "Let It Be" tapes was a bit like asking Rolf Harris to touch up art by Leonardo. As such, this should be considered as a piece of restoration work - it's only fault being the omission of Maggie Mae. [First added to this chart: 07/04/2018]

The songs on this albums are interspersed with long passages of random noises such as traffic, electronic muzak and 4 minutes of singing coqui frogs. When asked why it was necesairy to include this material a spokesman for the frogs said "...we did it for the money man. It's been hard times for us musical frogs since the heady days of McCartneys frog chorus, so we'll take any gig that going". [First added to this chart: 06/30/2018]

The songs on this album deal with neurobehavioral developmental disorders common in 21st Century teenagers such as bipolar disorder and attention deficit disorder.
When asked why he wanted to touch on these challenging and serious topics, songwriter Steven Wilson replied "f**k off, can't you see I'm busy on my f****** PlayStation?!?"

Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

This chart is rated in the top 2% of all charts on BestEverAlbums.com. This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 91.2/100, a mean average of 92.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 93.6/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 6.9.

Loved the commentary - so much truth from so few lines. As for the chart - yeah, it's alright. Major reservation is no Aussie albums ~ folks may think we are the lucky country, but we got the same issues (childhood innocence, the solar system, ADHD, an ex-Aussie named Rolf) as anywhere else in the world ~ and some decent singers & bands to expose the truth about these life-altering subjects.

Lol gotta love these top 5s. Haven't watched the Classic Who, but absolutely love the 10 series. Smith - Tennant - Capaldi - Ecclestone (only 1 season that's why last, Hurt is great but only 1 episode, and the rest are brilliant and tend to change places). Also Maradona - Messi - Pele - others. "Franco" meaning Zola, Baresi or Guillermo Franco? The chart itself is great, Animals and Crimson's debut are both in my top 10, and the whole thing is a very interesting read.
