Top 100 Music Albums of the 2000s by PeterSmith 
After dropping out of music in the 90's I found the tunes in 2000's on the radio quite refreshing without really picking up new bands and renewing my interest in albums.
Coldplay, Keane, The Feeling, Travis, Kasabian and Amy MacDonald amongst exceptions. And by mid decade I finally got into Radiohead. Yahoo. Late but got there.
I heard singles from MGMT, Snow Patrol, The Strokes, White Stripes, Frans Ferdinand, Placebo, Jay Z, 50 Cents, Eminem, Daft Punk, Gorillaz, Air, Killers, The Script, Lily Allan, Moby, Libertines, Florence & The Machine, Artic Monkeys amongst many others all peaking my interest without any follow up.
But it did mean that I missed some great stuff that I am only catching up from mid 2010's onwards including Muse, Bon Iver, Kayne West, Grandaddy, Arcade Fire, The XX, Green Day, Sigur Ros, Interpol, Fleet Foxes, Modest Mouse, The National amongst others.
Probably I now think the 00's might now have the best music after the 70's previously being my go-to era. But I am light on 60's and 2010's era's so more to explore in those decades.
As at July 22 (June 2019) this chart has:

It took me until 2016 to get this album as part of my drive to get back into music and looking at top 100 charts through this website.
I enjoyed their singles in the background but during the 2000s I was only half listening to the radio and couldn't really distinguish between the bands really so never got round to following up with albums.
This album has two of my top 100 songs in Run and Chocolate - fantastic.
There are many great tracks on this album - 14 songs although only 53 minutes long thanks to 5 short under 3 minute tracks (almost like a 50/60's album in terms of the timings there) [First added to this chart: 09/21/2018]

Had this album from about 2009 after getting into them through Daisies in the Galaxy. Took a wee while till I actually tuned into this album - I initially liked it but wouldn't say I had loved it. But gave it a fresh listen a couple of years back and it started to really resonate with me.
Although there are 14 tracks the album blasts through at only 42 mins long. So many great tracks to list but I'll call out All In A Day's Work, Love of the Loveless and Agony. [First added to this chart: 10/14/2018]

Found in Nov 18 and love the thumping rock. Recognisable sounds and rock but well delivered with catchy thumping tunes

Garage Rock Revival, Blues Rock, Punk Blues, Indie Rock
Picked this up in 2017 and hadn't realised it was then that had done the superb "Seven Nation Army" - and what a great video. Loving the colouring Red/White/Black of the band - smart stuff.
So many great tracks here but I'll just call out the longest track "Ball and Biscuit" and the subliminal final track "Well It's True That We Love One Another" - a playful duet between Meg and Jack and dragging Holly into it for her reluctant views on their love. LOL. [First added to this chart: 10/14/2018]

This is another great album from Radiohead combining their earlier rock sound with a more electronic sound.
It has two of my favourite all time tracks (ok I have many all time fav tracks) - in "I Will" - a beautifully constructed harmony; and "Punch Up At A Wedding"- I just love the lyrics and vocal delivery -
"Hypocrite opportunist
Don't infect me with your poison
A bully in a china shop".
So many great tracks on this although "Myxomatosis" is my least liked Radiohead song ever and I also struggle a bit with "We Suck Young Blood" [First added to this chart: 10/20/2018]

Their second album after "Is This It" and they kept it simple and similar so if you loved the first album you should love this.
