Top 56 Greatest Music Albums by hailey

In the summer of 2018, I had a friend of mine introduce me to the best music I have ever listened to. Before I started talking to my friend I was listening to today's alternative music, which, isn't near as great as any of the things I have listed on this chart. The first album he had me listen to was Illinois by Sufjan Stevens. It was very different, but I loved it. I then asked him for some more music suggestions and he gave me a list that was almost 100 albums long with all sorts of artists. I am still working on listening to them, but my experience so far has been so great with this music. As of now, I am still meeting new people, which brings along a lot of different music tastes that just gets mixed in with this big list of (sometimes) random albums.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this album is way underrated.

Conventional Weapons is a series of I think five separate releases. I kinda wish it was just all in one, just for convenience, but at the same time, I think it was a really cool idea to come through with.

Ok, Truly a classic. Everyone knows most if not all of the songs on here. The songs feel very original and beautiful to me which is why I recommend you give it a listen if you haven't already.

I really enjoy this one, not quite as much as the other two on this chart, but there are quite a few songs I like a lot.

Favorite: What A Catch, Donnie

What A Catch was the first one I listened to from this record. Man, it got me right in the feels. It really reflected a lot of the stuff that was going on in my life at the time, and I still really appreciate it.

Favorite: Do I Wanna Know?

I found this album by an editor that I follow on social media. He really admires this album and got a tattoo of the cover on this one on his wrist. I decided to give them a listen. They sound a lot like every other indie band out there, but something about them somewhat sets them apart from the rest, and that's why I like it quite a bit.

Good start and welcome to the journey. Keep going and finding new stuff - old classics, weird and new. I won't give any suggestions since you've got someone guiding you there for now. Your Pink Floyd and Bon Iver are amongst my fav's and isn't Neutral Milk Hotel just an amazing and emotional album.

Enjoy the journey and remember to add comments to your picks - why you like them and what they are - helps others decide if they want to give it a listen.
