“I think it’s fair to say ‘indie’ music was born in Scotland and to be precise, Orange Juice basically invented it. The guitars jangle, the vocals fey & ramshackle production abounds, as is that most important thing, the ability to write a pop song.
All allusions to Indie music, especially that wrong-headed notion of all things: 21st Century Indie, take note it all begins here. ” February 2019

“Synthpop was responsible for some of the most vibrant, brilliant pop music of the 80s - some of which have yet to leave radio playlists. But the Top 40 chart hits were only half the story with the independent sector producing a more esoteric, exploratory side to the sound.
Obscurities abound which is no bad thing (the big hitters story is well documented) providing plenty of new discoveries for those who’ve yet to tire of the sound of the future.” June 2019

“Although spanning a period of time this collection represents a vibe that really only became apparent during the very latter part of the 80s, before shoegaze became shoegaze, as The Stone Roses suddenly came of age.
It’s a sound you’ll easily recognise if familiar with the UK indie scene 1988-90 and stands as an excellent companion piece to the sterling shoegaze box-set Still In A Dream.” April 2019

“No, it’s not quite ‘The Greatest Punk Album in the World..Ever!’ but it doesn’t try to preferring to eschew some of the big bands (Clash, Wire) and big hits (God Save The Queen) for lesser known acts, b-sides and acts that have fallen down the rabbit hole of obscurity. 1977 being punks year, there are plenty of I wanna be me, I’m bored, you’re a liar and hi-rise council flats. A lot speed by leaving little impression but some like Radiators From Space, Blitzkrieg Bop, Raped and Larry Wallis are ‘nice’ discoveries “ July 2019 [First added to this chart: 05/18/2019]

“Itchy and scratchy follow-up to 2017’s ‘To The Outside Of Everything’ top-heavy with B-sides and obscurities, the most famous tunes being Final Day, Boy’s Keep Swinging and Love Lies Limp. So it’s a far harder listen but still interesting, even if some of the tracks get lost in their own cerebral-ness.”

“Not quite as famous as Zoo Records, Inevitable still counted among its number it’s fair share of Liverpudlian luminaries. Providing Wah! Heat, Nightmares In Wax/Dead Or Alive, China Crisis and It’s Immaterial, amongst others with their first releases, their track record is not to be sniffed at. Yep, it’s Inevitable, an exploding plastic (even if initially pressed on vinyl) Inevitable.” April 2019 [First added to this chart: 03/03/2019]

“Befitting the steel industry that grew up around Sheffield, the city’s music during the post-punk boom took on a distinctly industrial sound that clanks, bangs & fizzes. The Human League, Heaven 17, ABC and Pulp stand out as the success stories whilst less famous names such as Artery, They Must Be Russians, Chakk, & The Danse Society prove there was no dearth of talent or ideas. Not every track is essential but the ‘scene’ stands in stark comparison to today.” December 2019 [First added to this chart: 10/24/2019]

Are these your reviews? It's a little confusing because of the quotes. Anyways, they are great ones and clearly of the same voice. Great, great chart!
