Technical Death Metal, Avantgarde Death Metal
Better of the 2 Ulcerate albums I've heard so far. Their debut is less melodic and even more chaotic, but let's be honest, the songwriting on Stare Into Death And Be Still is on another level. That along with the incredible atmosphere makes a 58 minute behemoth sound fresh and interesting every second of its runtime. [First added to this chart: 05/06/2020]

This is just all around incredibly satisfying release. The production is smooth and detailed, as well as diverse. Verses are tongue in cheek, Milo tackles interesting topics in a humorous way - everything from doing laundry to what it means to be an artist. There's too many memorable quotes, but the one that perhaps sums up the album best is:
"I wrote this outside of Wegmans
After they kicked me out for, for kickin', kickin’ too many rhymes" [First added to this chart: 03/20/2020]

It's fair to say that I did not expect to like a 53 minute disco album, even with all the rave reviews. And it floored me. It's incredible that during the entire runtime there isn't a single mediocre/bad song. 12 bangers. And that's not even the best thing about What's Your Pleasure. What I find the most amusing here is how she seamlessly mixes genres and handles the production. Most of the songs here use well known (even cliched or corny) sounds and fuse them together to create something unexpected and so groovy. Great chart! A few I loved, and a few I couldn't stand (ugh that Code Orange record...not for me). 26 in common, including quite a few which are deeper cuts (Ulcerate was great, as was the Backxwash album). Probably my favorite 2020 chart I've seen so far, I'll have to dig through your year charts for other eras.
