What can I say? I know...this is a great freaking album. If you know Arctic Monkeys from AM, you NEED to go back and listen to their first two albums. Though their debut is incredible, it deals mainly with night life in Sheffield. This album expands on the relationship side of things, but touches on getting older, responding to critics and characters you meet randomly in your life, breakups, sexual kinks, and widening your perspective. It's an indie rock classic and should be held in higher regard. [First added to this chart: 01/28/2020]

I still think it's better than Is This It?, though it uses a lot of the same sounds. It has better production and is a great response to the overhype of the band. The Strokes just want you to listen to the music...then you can say they saved rock. [First added to this chart: 01/28/2020]

Seminal album of the 2000s, James Murphy knows how to put together a funky record about aging and isolation. [First added to this chart: 01/28/2020]

Step back and let Karen O break walls down! The tight playing of the trio along with her vocals will make you question your musical biases. [First added to this chart: 01/28/2020]

So much better than Kid A. Rolling Stone dropped all the balls on this, even though they love the album! Just below Room on Fire in terms of longevity for me. [First added to this chart: 01/28/2020]

I don't dislike Chutes, but I think this is the most definitive sound of The Shins. Folksy but rocking, introspective but painting wide vistas. [First added to this chart: 01/28/2020]
