Edit: 12/03/2021 this is today's chart of the day, I just want to thank you all for being so nice and reciprocating, there are a lot of artists that I must check out and a lot of things i must put in order before finishing this, to be honest with you, I don't know if i will ever get to finish it, not because I don't want to, but because I don't have too much time nowadays, but yeah, whenever I have the chance to, i will re-visit this chart, delete albums, add albums, etc.
Look, this chart is a mess, mostly because i can't bring myself to advance as much as i would like to. But my idea is to make a chart that it's as equally divided; filled with popular records and with records that i think deserve more attention, a 50/50, if you will... But I don't have that kind of knowledge yet, well, maybe that isn't it, i think it's mostly that i want to pick records that i'll be comfortable with, and as of today i would say im about 30% happy with this chart, and look, I don't want to sound like a total indie guy or like someone who hasn't an opinion on his own either, or maybe even both. i'll try to utilize every space in this chart to say how i feel about the record and why i love it so much and give a little bit of trivia in the process, sometimes i will get so inspired that i will even try to write some bloody awful poetry, even if i know i might not have the widest vocabulary to do it. I do think that the one artist per chart rule is fair, but i don't want to use it, because there are so many records/artists i think they deserve all my love, even if they already had more than enough of it, lol, but that will change in the future (IT DID, SEE "EDIT") it's not like Radiohead or The Strokes need more points on BEA than they already have, so I don't know, we'll see... I do appreciate all feedback and even appreciate that you are here looking at this mess, i will update here each descriptions i have done, if you want to check them out you are free to do so, cause i honestly don't have any idea of when i'm going to finish this, but yeah, that's it.
I might be a lazy af, but when i do get to write, i write a lot (most of the time) so BEWARE.
Ohhh and some of the records have descriptions in both spanish and english just for the sake of it and because they actually help me to get my thoughts together and to do a more focused inspection on the record, BUT i will translate all that, so don't worry.

EDIT: I'm totally convinced now that this chart sucks lol, don't get me wrong, I do love every single record i picked, but there is so much wasted potential and empty spaces that all in all, it just doesn't feel right, so I finally decided to improve it a little bit. You see, my biggest fear with this chart was not being able to give as many points as i think an artists deserve, and. I am truly sorry for every record that was left behind, i wish i could give every one of them 100 points, haha, but since i can't do that i will do my best to make this chart look how i think it should look. So as of now, i will apply the one artist per chart rule (EXCEPT for The Afghan Whigs, I really love that band) And additionally, i will do another chart with the albums that were eliminated from their position within the chart and also i will do another with my favorite records, so i won't have to be limited by the same rule again.

If six months back, someone told me that Carly Rae Jepsen would be in a not-so distant future one of my favourite female singers... i would probably believe it, but the thing is that i will wonder, well, HOW DID WE GET HERE?, sorry, i had to do it.
Canadian singer/songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen has been on the business for more than a decade now. Straight outta the "Canadian Idol" contest show, Carly went to do her first full-lenght studio record in 2008 "Tug on War" which was an okay attempt in years where music's future was kind of uncerain, or at least that's the way i see those years (2006-2009) Let me explain myself; it was this kind of weird thing in the middle but nothing concrete enough to reinforce mainstream media into one particular artist or a handful of artists and that was something that i was fine with (and i am) cause you had those emo pop-punk guys on one side (i love MCR) some pretty nice folky records on the other (Fleet Foxes), you had some of the best musical minds at their peak; you had Kanye, you had Arctic Monkeys, Justin Timberlake, LCD Soundsystem, pretty awesome artists and great, great music, and all of them were sharing the spotlight and recivieng attention, at least a bit. BUT, sadly, nothing is really "good enough" to make a "revolution" in the industry, or at least in the mainstream/corporate scheme of things "where's rock headed?" "where is pop headed?" hell, even "were is reggaeton headed?" were questions that didn't seem to matter that much at the time, because we were there and we heard about how genres were evolving, but regarding media again, something didn't feel quite right, it was kind of an air uncertainty, you know? You didn't had the explosion of Katy Perry yet, you didn't had the enormous monster that Justin Bieber came out to be, etc. And don't get me wrong, this isn't a rant about music on those years, in fact it's the opposite, some of my favourite albums of all time are in there and that's what im trying to say; bands and artists were changing music all the time and we noticed, cause some years ago, there wasn't this gigantic spotlight saturation within every media everywhere, hell, if it wasn't for the internet (a double edged sword too) and some other impartial plataforms, you wouldn't even find about really great artists nowadays, like Black Midi or Weyes Blood. We all knew that mainstream needed something more and so there she was, Carly in a word of giants doin what she could to survive. Tug on War had its fair share of popularity on Canada, but not much more outside the country. Then, some years later Carly released her sophomore record "Kiss" and suddenly everyone knew Carly's name... Her song "Call Me Maybe" was probably the most popular song on a year filled with popular songs (except maybe from Somebody That I Used To Know), and it had the right to be that popular, it was catchy as hell and you couldn't escape from it, it was everywhere and to be fair i still like the song, a lot. But anyways, even though the single and the record sold a lot, every other song on the album was obviously overshadowed by her greatest success. And now, look, i have listened to both Tug on War and Kiss, and i thought Tug on War was okay, but i didn't care for Kiss at all, except for the obvious Call Me Maybe. Then three years later, Carly drops one of the defining pop records of the decade; E•MO•TION.
The first time i listened to E•MO•TION i wasn't really impressed, but i thought it was a good record that had the potential to grow on me, what i did ignore at the time was how much it was going to grow, it grew out of the fucking ceiling. Sure, there are a lot of records that are just as good, or even better than this one and deserve the spot just as much, but, honestly this album is great, and it's not only in here because i think this record is pop at it's finest (which happens to be truth) or even because of how overlooked it still feels after 5 years of it's original release, in comparison with other bigger and more commercial records and that's the irony that i wanted to get to, about the uncerainty of mainstream music in a specific period of time, and just like it happened with some great records, E•MO•TION never made it into the mainstream. Thing is, it's records like this that are still changing music, it's just that most people don't noticed/care, nobody noticed how big this record was, just a few people, sure "I Really Like You" was pretty popular, but it's popularity didn't even lasted the year. Even ignoring those two enormous reasons, this album is here because it's an excellent pop record that i have enjoyed a lot more than i thought i would, and i certainly think it's time for Carly to get some love.
The record kicks off with "Run Away With Me", probably my favourite pop song of the decade and a contender for my favouite song of the decade, period. That sax intro is a killer. [First added to this chart: 09/12/2020]
