Avoided compilations apart from Elvis and Buzzcocks which are slight cheats but function as albums . Would have included comps by Chuck Berry , Buddy Holly , Marvin Gaye , Otis , Them , Shirelles, Everlys , Aretha , Spector , Marvelettes, Supremes, Impressions, Creedence, Jam and many others whose best work appeared on singles rather than LP's.
